Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 2022


Chris has broad experience in public/administrative law, judicial review, regulatory law, migration law, refugee law and human rights matters across state and international jurisdictions. Chris was a solicitor at Victoria Legal Aid and oversaw Craddock Murray Neumann’s judicial review practice representing asylum seekers on Nauru. He also worked as a lawyer at the Federal Court of Australia following stints as an in-house regulatory lawyer and in the litigation department of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. 


He has acted for applicants in the Nauru Refugee Status Review Tribunal and in tenancy matters in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), instructed in appeals in the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia, assisted refugees challenge resettlement refusals in the United States, and appeared in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Nauru, where he is admitted as a solicitor and barrister.


Additionally, Chris’ legal background comprises work in London at Hickman and Rose solicitors, as a legal researcher for academic Dr Mohammad Kakhki and in the law programme of international media law and human rights organisation Article 19. He represented his University, UTS, in the finals of the Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition at Oxford University and passed the England and Wales Bar Transfer Test.
